This is a fun book about loss, travel, love, and figuring out where you fit in this world. This book holds a special place in my heart as it is set in Florence, Italy where I studied abroad in summer 2019 and came to love. As soon as I decided to design this cover I knew it had to have the famous Duomo, as well as showcase arguably one of the best parts of Italy, gelato.
This book is about self acceptance, family relationships, travel. and expressing yourself through art. I love this book as it tells a story of a girl who realizes that everyone has beauty, you just have to see it.
This book is about peer pressure, and how it can turn dangerous quickly. This book takes us through the story of a girl who has been sexually assaulted, and hides it. She expresses herself through art, but finds that even that isn't always enough. I chose to create this pattern of faces without mouths to show that though it is hard to speak out, you are not alone.
This is a beautiful book about twin artists figuring out who they are apart. They go though some tough times, but find that even in the darkness there is light. I wanted to showcase this through simple, clean illustrations and typography.
Pride and Prejudice. A beautifully told story about first judgements and young love. When creating this I found that most redesigned covers for old books like this one were designed to look old. I wanted to bring this book into the 21st century with a modern, yet classy jacket to match such a classic.
This book is set during World War II in France. It tells the story of two sisters who manage to accomplish incredible feats while under German control. I love that it highlights on women heroes, as you don't always hear about them in history books. I thought feathers, to represent the Nightingale bird, but in a formation that shows they are taken on many ups and downs, twists and turns, just like the sisters in the story.
This space was designed to feel cozy and invite you in to curl up with a good book.
